چکیده

We analyze the performance of an adaptive communication scheme in which by employing limited feedback, the source will decide to transmit signal to the destination either by the direct link or by the direct and relaying links. Specifically, by using the instantaneous SNR as the metric, if the S-D link is better, the source will transmit to destination directly. Otherwise, the two-phase transmission mode will be triggered in which source cooperates with the relay or transmits twice within two time slots based on the quality of the received signal at the relay. Initially, the spectral efficiency is derived by calculating the probabilities of direct transmission and two-phase transmission mode. Subsequently, the BER performance for the adaptive cooperation schemes is analyzed by considering the BER routines of two events: the source transmits the signal alone or cooperates with the relay. Also, the optimum power allocation is studied based on the BER result. Finally, Monte-Carlo simulation results are presented to confirm the performance enhancement offered by the proposed scheme. key words: Adaptive cooperation, decode and forward, spectral efficiency, BER performance, power allocation.

Performance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward

In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...

Decode and Forward Cooperative Diversity for Modified SV Model Based UWB Communication System

Cooperative wireless networks have emerged as a major technology for future communication systems because cooperation in ad-hoc networks can save limited network resources. Cooperative techniques are the means to adopt the diversity, which is inherent in a wireless medium. While ultra-wideband (UWB) offers high information rates for wireless communication and sensor networks, the EIRP limits on...

Adaptive Delay-Tolerant Distributed Space-Time Coding Based on Adjustable Code Matrices for Cooperative MIMO Relaying Systems

An adaptive delay-tolerant distributed space-time coding (DSTC) scheme that exploits feedback is proposed for two-hop cooperative MIMO networks. Maximum likelihood (ML) receivers and adjustable code matrices are considered subject to a power constraint with a decode-and-forward (DF) cooperation strategy. In the proposed delay-tolerant DSTC scheme, an adjustable code matrix is employed to transf...

Performance Analysis of Wireless Cooperative Networks with Iterative Incremental Relay Selection

In this paper, an iterative incremental relay selection (IIRS) scheme is considered for wireless cooperative networks in order to increase the reliability of transmission. Different from the conventional incremental relay selection which incrementally selects a best relay for only one iteration; the IIRS scheme iteratively applies the incremental relaying and relay selection processes. To evalu...

Cooperative multi-hop transmission in wireless networks

We consider various relaying strategies for wireless networks by comparatively examining direct transmission, conventional relaying, and the novel concepts of cooperative relaying. The latter build on two inherent benefits of relaying systems: the spatial diversity offered by the relay channel, and the ability to exploit the broadcast nature of the wireless medium. Studied cooperative protocols...
